Known issues

Please check to make sure you have the most recenter version of Nomo:
iOS Android

If you're having trouble with Nomo (first of all, I'm sorry about that!), please check the list below to see if it's something I'm currently working to fix.

I can't upload a profile picture!

There are actually two issues here. Both are being fixed in the update that I'm working on right now.

I'm on an Android device and it's stuck on, "Saving".

For some reason, some Android phones are no longer working with photo uploads. I have this fixed in the next update. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I can't change a current photo.

Sometimes the app gets confused when there's already a photo. Here's how to fix that:

  1. Tap on your photo from your account window.
  2. Tap on the Update button.
  3. Select Delete photo from the list
  4. This is will delete the current photo and return you to your account. Tap on your profile picture again.
  5. Tap on the Update button.
  6. Select Camera Roll or Take a photo from the list.
  7. Adjust the photo as needed.
  8. Tap on the Save button.

I didn't get my confirmation email!

Those emails can sometimes get caught up in spam filters. Check your spam/junk folder to see if it's in there.

I fond it in my spam folder!
  1. Go ahead and click on the link in the email to activate your account.
  2. If you could, please head back to your email and mark it as "Not Spam". This tells your email provider that emails from Nomo are go to go. It helps a ton. Thanks!
I still can't find it!
  1. Sometimes those emails are deleted by spam filters before they even get to your inbox (very frustrating)
  2. Shoot me a message using the email you used to register your account. I'll jump in and manually activate it on my end for you. (Please note that I usually respond within a few minutes, but I'm also a father of four little kids... so there might be a delay)

I can't get notifications to work.

Nomo gives me a message about going to the settings.
  1. You'll have to close the Nomo app and open your iPhone's settings.
  2. Tap on Notification Center and swipe down until you see Nomo on the list.
  3. Tap on Nomo and toggle the switch to enable Notifications
I don't see Nomo in Notification Center

This happens when you've updated Nomo and had notifications disabled in the previous version.

  1. Hold down on the Nomo app on your home screen until it begins to wiggle.
  2. Tap the x on the corner of the icon to delete Nomo (all of your data is saved).
  3. Head to the AppStore and reinstall Nomo onto your phone. Tap here for the latest version
  4. Open Nomo and wait for the notification prompt. Make sure you tap Allow when it asks.
  5. Now notifications will work on your phone.
I changed my email to the wrong address!

Nomo requires that everyone has a valid email address linked to their account. Your is not public. When you update your email in the app, it will log you out and send you a verification link to the new email address. If you misspelled something, that link won't get to your and you'll be locked out of your account. Here's what to do:

  1. Email me and let me know that you entered an incorrect email.
  2. Do your best to remember how you typed it so I can find it in the database.
  3. If you typed a fake email, that's okay. I understand, but it has to be real.
  4. Once I find the account, I'll change it back to your original email and let you know.
  5. From there, you'll be able to get back into your account and change your email.
I can't send messages

Nomo has an in-app chat feature that allows you to direct message accountability partners. Due to a bug that appeared after a recent iOS update, you might run into an issue where tapping the send button does nothing. Here's a temporary workaround while I work on the next update:

  • Don't resume a conversation from a notification.
  • Instead, ignore the notification and open the app from the icon on your homescreen.
  • Then go to your messages and reply like normal.
  • If it does glitch and won't send, go to any other part of the app, then return to the message.

The error is related to how notifications are handled with a recent update. I'm working on a fix. Sorry about that!
